What is the difference between duplication and replication and which one should I choose?

Duplicated CDs are created using CD Recordables or CD-Rs. A CD-R is simply a blank disc that can be laser burned (recorded) with a CD/DVD recorder or computer burner. A replicated disc is the actual manufacturing of a CD or DVD. The process includes creation of a glass master that is stamped onto the CD in the form of tiny pits that your CD player can read. Duplicated CD-Rs are generally used for smaller runs of 500 or less. Replicated CDs are generally more cost effective if you plan on purchasing 500 and upwards.
